Please excuse the cheesy title, I couldn’t think of something better.

I met up with 2 of my marekoys, Honey and Mariel to audition for a game show — I know, right?!? And I’m not telling, hahaha!

Anyways, all three of us were so tense while waiting for the exam to begin. We knew it was going to be individual efforts with cumulative scores. We weren’t quite confident if our stocked knowledge would be enough.

While distributing the testpapers, they gave us strict instructions to wait for their go signal before answering. Naturally, that wasn’t enough to keep everybody from taking a peek at the questionnaire. It was a total of 20 items, 10 for general knowledge and 10 for IQ.

It felt like forever while waiting for the proctors to finish checking the papers. And when they finally did start calling out the names of those who were qualified for the second elimination, things really seemed hopeless for the marekoys. Mariel was sort of the key player so it was her name (Maria Manuela) that was going to be called if we passed. After hearing a lot of Maria Christina’s and after hearing that they were down to the last two teams, we were already consoling each other and making plans to join again.

And then we heard it. Maria Manuela. We didn’t get to hear the surname because our shrieks (mine being the loudest) drowned out the proctor’s voice. Nobody else stood up when we did so I’m pretty sure it was our team they were calling.

I’m praying that we’re able to make it to the game proper. I’m also praying that if we don’t win the grand prize, we can still get something big enough for my share to be able to take care of all my mom’s chemo expenses (and maybe have a little something extra for our TRIbeca condo unit ^^).
