Someone has updated the scanlations for Goong in Onemanga.com, and I’m getting madder with Yul Goon by the minute. His character in the manhwa is so so so so sinister.
I know this is supposed to have a happy ending, but at this point, things look pretty bleak for Shin and Chae-gyung.
The royal couple ends up divorcing. Why? Yul has blackmailed Chae-gyung and Shin’s mother that he will take over the crown prince position if they don’t. So Chae-gyung has no choice but to give in. She keeps the real reason to herself, but gives just enough hints to Shin that she’s doing this against her will. With that, how is Shin supposed to let the love of his life go without a fight, or at least knowing the truth? But like Chae-gyung, he has no say in this, so he reluctantly agrees to the divorce. But he vows to find out who has driven Chae-gyung to this decision and when he resolves it, he swears he’ll come back for Chae-gyung.
And then this unbelievable guy named Yul takes advantage of how much Shin becomes a wreck after the divorce. He goes to Chae-gyung, and tells him his brilliant idea to make Shin believe that he and Chae-gyung are together — that this will surely tap into Shin’s pride and get him back into shape.
What a total nutcase.
